Samsung Galaxy Note III Octa-core variant headed to India

We already know the launch date for Samsung's next Note entrant, the Galaxy Note III, and the leaks related to the device don't seem to stop rolling. A latest report has revealed the various variants of the device and the list of countries that'll be getting each variant.

Sam Mobile has posted the complete list of countries where the two variants of the device, the SM-N900 (3G version) powered by Samsung Exynos 5420 (Octa-Core) processor and the SM-N9005 (LTE version) powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974), will allegedly head.

Much like the company's flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, every country will get a variant of the Galaxy Note III, based apparently on the fact that the market needs LTE capabilities or not. However, the site also notes that, "If your country gets both processor variants, it is a decision based on the marketing plan of Samsung. Which means if there are LTE networks in your country, Samsung will start with the LTE variant (Snapdragon 800) first."

The leaked country list also includes India with the country said to get the Octa-core SM-N900 (3G version) of the Samsung Galaxy Note II successor as expected.

The site also claims that there will be a third version, SM-N9002 which will be powered by Samsung Exynos 5420 (Octa-Core) processor and that will be a dual-SIM device. This device will apparently be only for the China market.

Earlier, specifications of the Galaxy Note III were revealed. The leaked specifications of the device include a 5.68-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is said to come with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note III will reportedly have identical dimensions as its predecessor even though its sports a slightly larger display.

The one thing that was missing from the earlier leaked specifications was the GPU, and now we know that as well.

According to Sam Mobile, the SM-N900 will be backed by an ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU, the SM-N9005 will be backed by an Adreno 330 GPU while the dual-SIM variant will be powered by ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date, smart watch on September 4: Report

Samsung may unveil the next generation Galaxy Note device and its rumoured smart watch at an event on September 4.

A report in The Korean Media, first picked up by Techkiddy notes that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note III on September 4 at Berlin. That is two days before the IFA conference kicks off in Berlin, Germany, the event where the original Galaxy Note and its successor have been unveiled in past years.

According to the original report, Samsung will also use the event to unveil its wearable computing device - most likely a smart watch - giving it a head start over arch rival Apple, which is widely tipped to unveil its iWatch soon. Sony recently unveiled SmartWatch 2, a wearable companion for Android devices.

There's no fresh information in terms of specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note III, or the smart watch. As per earlier reports, Galaxy Note III will come with a 5.7-inch full-HD AMOLED display. It will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor alongside 3GB of RAM and run on Android 4.3, the latest iteration of Google's operating system. In terms of camera, Samsung's latest phablet is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear shooter.

Samsung recently unveiled the Exynos 5420 Octa processor, so the Galaxy Note III may be powered by Samsung's own processor in some markets, and the Qualcomm chip in others, similar to the strategy it followed with the Galaxy S4.

Samsung working on 12.2 and 10-inch tablets

Samsung is in the news again with a new report now claiming that the South Korean device maker is allegedly working on tablets with 12.2-inch and 10-inch displays.

Twitter user @evleaks has revealed the specifications of Samsung SM-P900 and P600 which he claims are the model numbers of tablets featuring a 12.2-inch and 10-inch display, respectively. The tweet by @evleaks said, "Samsung SM-P900: 12.2-inch, Exynos 5 octa, 2560x1600, S-pen; P600: 10-inch, Snapdragon 800, also 2560x1600."

The tweet clearly mentions that the alleged 12.2-inch and 10-inch tablets will boast of a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and would be powered by Exynos Octa 5 and Snapdragon 800 processor, respectively. The SM-P900 will supposedly support S-Pen, as per @evleaks.

Another technology site, RB Men has also published specifications of the alleged 12.2-inch model variant of the Samsung tablet dubbed as SM-P900. The site suggests that the SM-P900 tablet will run Android 4.2.

We had earlier reported about Samsung developing a 12.2-inch tablet of its own. The report claimed that the displays will be made by Sharp and will be based on IGZO (Indum-Gallium Zinc Oxide) technology. They'll sport a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and will come with an S Pen stylus, which is usually bundled with devices under the Galaxy Note series. Samsung is likely to launch the tablet in the third quarter of 2013. It's worth mentioning that Apple is also said to be testing a large screen iPad measuring slightly less than 13-inches diagonally as per rumours.

Samsung has been launching tablets and phablets in various display sizes, one can fathom so it doesn't really come as a surprise but the tablets appear to be targeted at power users judging by their specifications. The South Korean device maker's list of screen sizes includes devices across 6.3-inch, 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch screens. The alleged SM-P900 will be the biggest device from the stable of Samsung in terms of screen size. However, there's no official word from the company about the two devices.

Meanwhile, Samsung's next generation Galaxy Note phablet, the Galaxy Note III has also been in the news for quite some time though there's no official word from the company, yet. The latest rumour claims that the alleged Galaxy Note III will feature a 5.7-inch display, 3GB of RAM and the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
